J.W. and Marilyn

SPIRITUAL HISTORY OF J.W. & MARILYN THOMAS

J.W. actually found the Lord when he was only twelve years old near the little town of Franklin, Pennsylvania. He lived next to a small United Brethern Church. A group called “The Gospel Singer Family” came to do a revival at the church and Jim was mesmerized by the great guitar playing of Ray Proper, (one of the brothers). This group also played on radio station WKRZ with Evangelist Katheryn Kuhlman at Oil City , Pa.

One night J.W. went forward and Ray led him to Jesus kneeling at the alter. He never forgot this experience of meeting Jesus. J.W. went on to be an accomplished guitar player himself, even playing with some of the Grand Ol’ Opry stars.

J.W. And Marilyn met as he played and she sang at an outdoor park in Pennsylvania, (the rest is history!). They married in 1958 and had five fine sons and one adopted son, all of course are all fine musicians; and all know the Lord personally. Marilyn found the Lord later and they decided not to pursue a music career. They instead wanted to raise their family in a Christian home and not be on the road all the time playing music.

They had the wonderful experience of working on the Billy Graham Crusade committee for one and a half years. The Forgotten Treasure Ministry was born out of that experience. That was twenty one years ago. They have never looked back.

J.W. has contacted a serious lung problem which has slowed him down considerably, but Marilyn carries on vigorously by the power of the Holy Spirit and a crew of about seventy volunteers.

They also have two music CD’s, with most of the songs (words and music) by J.W. or Marilyn. Only the Lord knows what he has in store for the rest of their lives. J.W. turns seventy in June 2005 and Marilyn’s age is -------------?( ha ). We look forward to serving the bread of life to the elderly , (which we are not ). Won’t you join us.

There’s a Treasure Waiting for You.

For All The Forgotten Treasure...

Sincerely,

Marilyn Thomas

DEAR FOLKS:

TO RE-CAP ALL THE WONDERFUL YEARS WE HAVE SERVED GODS LOVE TO THE FORGOTTEN ELDERLY: MARILYN AND I HAVE, FOR THE MOST PART, FINANCED THE MINISTRY FROM OUR PERSONAL INCOME. SINCE WE ARE NOW BOTH RETIRED WE CAN NO LONGER CONTINUE TO DO THIS ALONE.

WE WERE IN ERROR NOT TO INVITE MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN US IN THIS OUTREACH. WE DO HAVE A FEW FAITHFUL PARTNERS THAT GIVE MONTHLY PLEDGES AND SOME ONE TIME DONATIONS. HOWEVER WE DON'T HAVE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO CARRY ON AS WE HAVE BEEN. THE LORD'S WORD IS VERY PLAIN IN STATING THAT SOME ARE CALLED TO GO AND SOME ARE CALLED TO HELP SEND OTHERS. I INVITE YOU TO JOIN IN THE BLESSINGS THIS MINISTRY BRINGS WHEN YOU KNOW YOU ARE HELPING TO BRING LOVE AND HOPE TO A LONELY HEART.

WE ARE SEEKING MONTHLY PLEDGES OF $25.00 OR ANY AMOUNT YOU FEEL LEAD TO CONTRIBUTE. YOU MAY PREFER TO SET UP A FOUNDATION, AN ENDOWMENT OR A ONE TIME GIFT.

IT IS ALL TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
